Time For The Rain Dance - Washington Fires Send Smoke to Penticton

Opening the windows on my drive through Washington late last night, I could smell that familiar Southern California "eau-de-flame."

There is a 1000+ acre fire burning in Washington that is only 30% contained as of today. The smoke seems to be blowing some of its ash towards Penticton (see yesterday's satellite photo) -- but the prediction for Pentiction is that a weather pattern should push the smoke in a different direction soon.

This morning there was a thin coat of ash on my car, which made me notice that I need to have my car washed before the remnants of the drive from San Diego's front-grill-bug-massacre becomes permanent.
